Welcome to LangChat. By downloading, installing, or using our mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LangChat, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

LangChat is an AI-powered language learning application that provides voice-driven conversation practice with AI tutors, community chat rooms for practicing with other learners, and progress tracking features. The app uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized language tutoring.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information
  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Subscriptions and Payments

LangChat offers two subscription tiers:

  • AI Access: Access to AI voice tutors and personal progress tracking
  • Full Access: Everything in AI Access plus community chat rooms and leaderboards
  • Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings
  • No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods

5. Community Guidelines

When using community chat rooms, you agree to:

  • Be respectful and supportive of other learners
  • Not post offensive, hateful, or inappropriate content
  • Not spam or send unsolicited promotional messages
  • Not share other users' personal information
  • Report any violations of these guidelines

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
  • Use the app to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Share your account with others or create multiple accounts

7. AI Tutoring Disclaimer

Important: LangChat's AI tutoring is provided for educational and practice purposes. The responses are generated by artificial intelligence and should not be considered certified language instruction.

  • AI responses may not always be perfectly accurate in grammar or pronunciation
  • The app is a supplementary learning tool, not a replacement for formal education
  • Learning outcomes vary by individual effort and consistency
  • We continuously improve AI accuracy but cannot guarantee perfection

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of LangChat are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you provide (such as your language profile data and community messages). By using the app, you grant us a license to use this content to provide and improve our services.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LangChat and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LangChat and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app or violation of these terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the app at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Use or is harmful to other users or us.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new terms in the app. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which LangChat operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
